14 Foodie Events in Chicago to Add Flavor to Your July

There will be no shortage of beer and tacos this July in Chicago, thanks to a variety of street festivals. The Taste of Chicago also returns to Grant Park. Plus, you can spice things up with hot sauce or cool them down with a margarita. Here are 14 foodie events in Chicago to keep your July busy. 1. Taste of Oak Brook

July 3, 2022 | Oak Brook Polo Grounds, 700 Oak Brook Rd.
Celebrate the 4th of July a day earlier with fireworks and food restaurants in the western suburbs of Oak Brook, as well as restaurants in other nearby communities. Beer, wine and sangria will be the drinks of choice.

2. Taste of Chicago

July 8-10 | Grant Park
Take in views of the iconic Buckingham Fountain when Taste of Chicago amounts to Grant Park this year. More than 30 vendors will showcase Chicago’s food scene, along with music and other entertainment. If you are thirsty, there will also be a brasserie, a wine tent and a cocktail bar.

3. Naperville Oktoberfest

July 9 | Naper Institution, Naperville
Taste over 150 craft beers at this Oktoberfest in the western suburbs of Naperville. Food trucks will also be on hand to help you soak up all those beers.

4. West Loop Summer Festival

July 9-10 | West Loop, Washington Street from Morgan Street to Peoria Street
Try local vendors and drinks at this tropical themed festival in the west loop.

5. Horner Oktoberfest

July 15 | Horner Park
Head to Horner Park for sip beer of 20 different breweries and cider houses. Food trucks and live music will also be there.

6. Roscoe Village Burger Feast

July 15-17 | Roscoe Village, Belmont Avenue to Damen Avenue
As dining season is in full swing, join the ultimate “cake partyat Roscoe Village for this burger festival. Vendors will be on hand to offer a variety of burgers, and festival-goers will be able to vote for their favorite burger.

7. Tacos and Tamales Festival

July 15-17 | Pilsen, 16th Street to Peoria Street
This Pilsen festival enjoys a tamales chart from different parts of Latin America, as well as handmade tortillas, a beer garden, art installations, music and other entertainment.

8. Taco Fest and Highwood Days

July 21-24 | Highwood Metra Station Parking Lot, 317 Green Bay Rd.
Many taco restaurants, caterers and food trucks will be in the Highwood Metra station parking lot for this taco-themed food festival. The event is in conjunction with the Highwood Days Community Festival which provides carnival rides, music and other entertainment in the northern suburbs.

9. Taste of Lincoln Avenue

July 22-24 | Lincoln Avenue between Fullerton Avenue and Wrightwood Avenue
The 38th edition Taste of Lincoln Avenue is back in Lincoln Park between Fullerton and Wrightwood avenues. Taste popular hall dishes, learn about arts and crafts, and more.

10. Pizza Party

July 23-24 | West Loop, 1340 W. Washington St.
This party is a pizza lover’s dream, with 20 on-site pizzerias in the West Loop to serve a variety of styles, from Sicilian and Detroit to deep dish and tavern-style. It’s hosted by Steve Dolinsky, who literally wrote the book on pizza in Chicago. On-site ovens will ensure the freshness of the pizzas.

11. Illinois Hot Sauce Show

July 23-24 | 121 N. Chicago St., Joliet
If you can stand the heat, the Illinois Hot Sauce Show is in the southwest suburb of Joliet with hot sauce tastings, beer and cocktails, and plenty of food vendors. Oh, and live music and wrestling!

12. Chicago Margarita Festival

July 23 & 24 | Navy wharf
Visit Navy Pier for the Chicago Margarita Festival. Sip a variety of margaritas right on Lake Michigan and enjoy the music and dancing, too.

13. Pierogi Festival

July 29-31 | Downtown Whiting, Indiana
The pierogi is the main event for this party in Whiting, Indiana, just across the border. Dozens of vendors, including several Polish restaurants, will be in downtown Whiting. Visitors can also attend the Polka Parade on Friday evening.

14. Chinatown Summer Fair

July 30-31 | Chinatown, 2200 S. Wentworth Ave.
Explore the restaurants of Chicago’s Chinatown with the Chinatown Summer Fair, now in its 43rd year. There will also be family activities, artisans and the dragon and lion dance procession.
