In 2015, the Big Teeth 60-Second Film Festival kicked off as part of the Ravenswood Art Walk on the North Side of Chicago. It was a chance for friends and employees who worked at, or with, Big Teeth Productions to test their directing skills outside of the “client work” arena. With each year that followed, the number of films increased and the values of storytelling and production skyrocketed.

Based on feedback from filmmakers and audiences, Big Teeth realized how fun the event was for everyone, and how exciting it was to discover the talent of people who might not consider themselves to be filmmakers before. As it was such a positive experience, they decided to make it a regular thing – and in 2019 the Big Teeth Small Shorts Film Festival was born.
