SBL Holiday Festival is preparing for a virtual event | Community


The holiday season is fast approaching and plans are underway for the 23rd Annual Sarah Bush Lincoln Holiday Festival. This year’s comfort and joy-themed event can be enjoyed from the comfort of your home as a virtual event again this year, with proceeds going to the new hospice that will be built. on the main hospital campus.

“We wanted to share the wonders of the Holiday Festival in person this year, but the health and well-being of our community is our top priority. We look forward to delivering an exciting virtual event, featuring a wide variety of beautifully decorated trees, wreaths, holiday decorations and specialty items, ”said Kim Lockart, Head of Special Events at SBL Health Foundation. “Last year’s virtual event was very successful, thanks to the abundance of support from the community. We are delighted to come up with another engaging virtual event to bring some more comfort and joy to people’s lives. “

The online auction site features over 100 items decorated by area residents, businesses and Sarah Bush Lincoln employees. These silent auction items, including 4-foot trees and home decor items, are available for auction from 8 a.m. on Wednesday, November 10 until 8 p.m. on Monday, November 15. The festival will hold a live auction in lieu of its annual gala and feature 13 elite items. For a chance of $ 100, a winner can choose one of the live auction items as a prize. The remaining 12 items will be available for auction from 8:00 a.m. on Friday, November 12, with final auctions taken during the 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. live auction event on Sunday, November 14. Net proceeds from this year’s holiday festival will support an endowment for the new hospice home, which will be a warm and welcoming 14,470 square foot facility with eight private suites, family reunion space, beautiful landscaping and more. again to help make patients’ last days as comfortable as possible. Your support will help those with limited resources pay for their stay. It will be the first fully dedicated inpatient palliative care home in east central Illinois.

The Memory Star Ornaments offer attendees the opportunity to honor a loved one and support the endowment of Sarah Bush Lincoln’s new Hospice House.
