State Opera Sunday announced at the Film Festival on Rathausplatz

Every Sunday, from July 3, at Film Festival at Rathausplatz will be »State Opera Sunday«: every week, on the big screen directly in front of the Vienna City Hall, brand new productions, productions from previous seasons by the current management, as well as older performances of opera genres and ballet will be shown. In addition, the Vienna State Opera also makes a major contribution to the program of the Children’s Opera Festivalwhich takes place every Friday afternoon from 5 p.m. in the Rathauspark.

The following dates of the “State Opera Sundays” are planned:

Sunday July 3: Gioachino Rossini Il turco in Italia, live delayed from the Vienna State Opera, from 9.30 p.m.
Sunday July 10: Jules Massenet Werther, start: 9:15 p.m.
Sunday July 17: John Strauss Die Fledermaus, start: 9:15 p.m.
Sunday July 24: Georges Bizet Carmen, from 9:15 p.m.
Sunday July 31: Léo Delibes Sylvia (ballet), from 9.15 p.m.
Sunday August 7: Giuseppe Verdi La traviata, from 9 p.m.
Sunday August 14: Richard Strauss Ariadne auf Naxos, from 8:45 p.m.
Sunday August 21: Edvard Grieg Peer Gynt (ballet), start: 8:45 p.m.
Sunday August 28: Wolfgang A. Mozart Don Giovanni, start: 8:30 p.m.
Sunday September 4: Gioachino Rossini Il Barbiere di Siviglia, from 8.30 p.m.
