The Atwater-Donnelly trio will perform at the Imago Foundation for the Arts in Warren on May 28

Join the Imago Foundation for the Arts as they host the Trio Atwater-Donnelly at 7:30 p.m. on May 28 at the Imago Gallery, 36 Market Street.

Highly acclaimed husband-wife duo Aubrey Atwater and Elwood Donnelly will perform a program of traditional American and Celtic folk songs, acapella tunes, old-time gospel songs, dance tunes and original works as they mix unusual harmonies and play guitar, Appalachian Mountain dulcimer, mandolin, whistle, harmonica, banjo, reserve surprises like Appalachian clog dancing and French-Canadian footwork. Atwater and Donnelly will be joined by Cathy Clasper-Torch, who adds a rich third dimension with violin, cello, Chinese erhu and vocals.

Since 2004, the Trio Atwater-Donnelly has been a driving force on the regional folk circuit with performances that appeal to all ages. With humour, audience participation and relaxed stage presence, they explain the origins of the songs to create a deeper understanding of the music and its cultural history.
