CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, USA, August 30, 2022 / — The 501c Varied Artists Foundation (3) is proud to announce the 6th Annual Varied Artists Independent Film Festival (VAiFF), this two-day live event will kick off October 7, 2022 at the Chicago Cultural Center and then move on to will continue the following day October 8, 2022 at Facets Chicago. VAiFF is accepting applications from filmmakers of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds from Chicago and around the world in 10 categories and genres. What makes this festival unique? NO FILM ELIGIBILITY EXPIRATION! It’s true! Your film can be over 2 years old and still eligible for submission. Previously screened films are allowed in this contest and “Best of…” winners receive a free copy of the Final Draft screenwriting software. Animators receive a free copy of Harmony Animation Software. Three Chicago filmmakers have the chance to win a one-year IFC Chicago membership and ALL filmmakers have the opportunity to win a short film production grant to produce their own short film to premiere at the IFC Chicago festivities. next year’s opening night.

Opening night begins at the Chicago Cultural Center from 6:00-9:00 p.m. where guests will experience a JAZZ OCCURENCE with Lewis Achenbach and a three-way jazz band. Chicago hip-hop theater troupe KUUMBA LYNX will perform a spoken word presentation “Juke for Liberation”. Special guest writer, producer, director and entrepreneur CARL JONES (“The Boondocks”, “Black Dynamite” and “The Last OG” will speak and deliver a special announcement for all future VAiFF contestants, a surprise that promises to To be a real movie Cesar Ramirez, winner of the 2021 VAiFF Production Grant, will present his film “IndiviDUALITY”, the first prize of the season in the Music Video category will be presented and this opening night is FREE TO THE AUDIENCE! , but that’s just the beginning.

The second day continues at Facets Chicago from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. where 30 guests will have an intimate symposium with CARL JONES, and he will speak candidly about his career, the ups and downs and what he gained from success, and how it can help others grow in their entertainment career. This is a separate ticket event. Screenings and award shows will continue with nominees in the COMEDY, DOCUMENTARY, DRAMA, and Horror/THRILLER categories.

Our closing film will be the award-winning audience film “Pretty Boy” by filmmaker Sejahari Saulter-Villegas.

We will end the evening with the announcement of the winner of the 2022 Production Grant. This content creator will have the opportunity to produce a short film which will premiere at next year’s festival.
