The UniFrance TV division will present three animated series at MIPCOM

UniFrance’s TV division (formerly TV France International) will present two showcases highlighting French TV content with a particular focus on animation and documentaries. Their presentation at MIPCOM (the world’s largest content marketplace) will be held October 11-14, 2021 in Cannes, includes six flagship programs.

The animation works will be presented on Monday, October 11, from 4.30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

UNIFRANCE – I LOVE FRENCH STORIES FOR CHILDREN:

1) Go Astro Boy Go (52 x 13 ′) – It’s an eco-responsible comic adventure presented by PlayBig. It is produced by Tezuka Productions.

Go Astro Boy Go talks about Team Astro to save our planet. And how children can better understand their world and how all natural phenomena, including them, are connected in the web of life. Who knew saving the world could be so fun?

Astro Boy lives here in a different world from the original Astro Boy. He still needs heroes, but not to fight evil robots. The well-being of planet Earth is at stake here. It is inspired by Osamu Tezuka’s own beliefs (eg respect for animals, our fragile Earth and the world around us).

This series is a call to action based on the strength of the existing Astro boy IP.

2) Imago (26 x 22 ′) – This show is presented by Newen Connect. It is a production of La Chouette Cie, Groupe Riez-JLA.

Imagos are magical creatures born from the meeting of magic and the imagination of a child. They serve as companions and protectors for children. Zayn is a child who always dreamed of having his own imago. His wish comes true when he awakens Azrokh, a powerful imago and guardian of a magic lamp! But with great power comes great responsibility. Zayn will embark on an incredible journey with his friends Awa, Zora and Kemi, who have their own imaginations..

3) Edmond and Lucie (52 × 12 ‘) – It’s a real-time CGI preschool show that reconnects kids and their families with nature. Commissioned by France 5, the show is adapted from albums sold around the world illustrated by Marc Boutavant.

Production started in 2020 via MIAM’s brand new real-time CGI studio in Paris for delivery in summer 2022. Presales are open, RTS (Switzerland), SVT (Sweden), TV5 Monde (French-speaking in the world) , VRT (Belgium), MTVA (Hungary) and SYN (Iceland) are already in the game!

Edmond the squirrel and Lucy the bear are brought up as brother and sister in a majestic chestnut tree that they call their home, a sort of radiant city in the forest. Play and grow in the heart of nature, unravel its mysteries and live adventures in the great outdoors. What a magnificent life!

In addition to the animated content, the UNIFRANCE – I LOVE DOC FRENCH STORIES Showcase will be presented on Tuesday, October 12 from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Three of the films that will be screened are If you kill call me (Terranoa), One year on Mars (ARTE Distribution), and Dolores: in the name of the sister (Balanga).

The UniFrance team and 41 French companies that are members of the French delegation will be present at MIPCOM, Riviera 7 Hall.
